Yoga Nidra combines guided mental imagery with a specific yoga posture called Savasana. The goal of Yoga Nidra is to promote a profound state of relaxation, while still being aware of one's surroundings.

A standard Hatha yoga class. Physically activating enough to satisfy the need to challenge oneself, but at a level where even beginners can understand, modify and enjoy the practice.

A Vinyasa-style yoga class with an emphasis on flowing movement, energetic postures and a strong breath-movement synchronization.

A class that combines the benefits of mindfulness and stretching in a yoga practice with the core strengthening focus of a Pilates class.

Yoga for Seniors

Class postures place gentle emphasis on improving flexibility, balance and strength in an age-appropriate fashion. Benefits of Mindful Breathing and Guided Meditation  are demonstrated and practiced. Students can participate in a chair or in full standing/sitting postures.

Yoga for Men

5,000 years ago the practice of yoga was exclusive to men. 20th Century western culture portrayed yoga as a woman’s practice. The 21st century has changed the mindset but many men are still looking for the right time and place to try yoga. This introductory-level class demonstrates the anatomical and psychological benefits of yoga in a men’s-only setting (an off-site location is also available).

Chair Yoga

Learn techniques for a 10-minute yoga break, right at your desk. Relieve wrist, neck and back pain so you can stay productive and happy throughout the day.

Yin Yoga

A practice consisting of a series of long-held, passive floor poses working the lower part of the body - hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. Targets areas rich in deep connective tissues- ligaments, joints, bones and fascia, rather than muscle.

Zumba

If you like to dance, you will absolutely love Zumba!

This class provides choreographed movements to popular songs that repeat. This method is most beneficial as you can quickly become familiar with, and thoroughly enjoy, the fun movements while gaining the valuable results of a cardio workout!

FitMind and Body offers additional classes and services conducted by our highly qualified, insured and certified staff of instructors and practitioners.

Mindfulness and Meditation

Mindfulness has been described as the skill of being deliberately attentive to one’s experience as it unfolds, without judgment or commentary. Meditation has been defined as a practice of concentrated focus with the purpose of increasing awareness of the present moment, reducing stress, promoting relaxation, and enhancing personal and spiritual growth. These two concepts are part of every yoga class, but may be presented in a classroom setting with discussion and techniques.
