Yoga is a simple and accessible way for students to use the tools they already have...

their body, breath, and mind - to release stress, find focus, and perform better.

It’s also considered instrumental in helping teachers facilitate student success!

Classroom Settings

Anti-bullying, health and wellness, and character education are common themes in American schools today, all focusing on educating the whole student -

mind, body and spirit. Yoga, by nature, supports this learning.

Research suggests that school-based yoga cultivates competencies in mind-body awareness, self-regulation, and physical fitness. Classroom teachers benefit as well. Taken together, these competencies may lead to improvements in students’ behavior, mental state, health, and performance, as well as teacher resilience, effectiveness and overall classroom climate.

The true essence of Yoga encourages us to see the beauty and light within ourselves. This can be achieved through increased self-awareness practices, self-confidence and self-acceptance. Students typically begin to feel more comfortable with their bodies, as they get in touch with who they are inside. A young person who learns yoga, mindfulness and relaxation will be developing essential skills for a lifetime of health and wellness in mind, body and spirit.
